Consequences
The following is a brief summary of the behavior system used in my classroom. Each child has a pocket on a wall chart which is filled with different colored index cards. Every student begins each day with a white index card in his or her pocket. This indicates the student is displaying excellent behavior in and out of the classroom. Should the student not follow directions during the course of the day, I will "turn a card" which means that they place the white card in the back of the pocket and the next color card is showing. If misbehavior continues, the child turns to the next card until the last card which is a note or phone call home is displayed. The following is a list of color cards and its corresponding meaning.
White = excellent behavior
yellow = verbal warning
blue = student teacher conference at recess
pink = parent note home to be signed and returned
Children will be rewarded after they have had 5 weeks without turning a card!
